In Spring of 2003, Sci-Fi Channel produced the very expensive mini-series “Children of Dune” starring then newcomer James McAvoy and Susan Sarandon. Superb and emotionally charged storytelling, characters, acting, and direction punctuated by one of the best scores ever recorded, it was largely missed by many fans who were not pleased with the first mini-series.
